1. Purpose
This policy establishes the principles and procedures for the development, approval, implementation, monitoring, and periodic review of all academic programmes. It ensures that the curriculum remains current, industry-relevant, pedagogically sound,and aligned with regulatory requirements and institutional goals.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all programmes, modules, and short courses offered by the
institution, including those delivered in collaboration with external partners.
3. Guiding Principles
- Curriculum is designed to meet identified learner, industry, and societal needs.
- Programme outcomes align with the institution’s mission and relevant qualification
frameworks.
- Curriculum is reviewed annually to ensure relevance, quality, and continuous
improvement.
- Stakeholder feedback—students, faculty, industry representatives, and
regulators—is incorporated into curriculum decisions.
- Manager in tandem with AEB (Academic & Examination Board) to ensure compliance to SSG quality assurance standards at all times.
4. Responsibilities
Academic & Exams Board: Provides oversight, approves new programmes and
major curriculum revisions, and ensures compliance with quality assurance
standards.
- Academic & Exams Board: Develops curriculum content, conducts reviews, analyses feedback and performance data, and recommends improvements.
- Academic & Exams Board: Implement the curriculum, assess learning outcomes, and contribute to continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback.
- Academic & Exams Board: Coordinates review processes, annual documents
revisions, and ensures adherence to institutional policies.
5. Curriculum Development
New programmes or modules must follow a structured process that includes:

- Needs analysis and market research
- Development of syllabus, assessment strategies, and learning resources
- Internal evaluation and endorsement by the Curriculum Committee
- Final approval by the Academic & Exams Board prior to delivery
6. Curriculum Review
All programmes shall undergo a formal review periodically or as required by regulatory authorities. Reviews include:

- Analysis of student performance and progression
- Feedback from students, faculty, alumni, and industry
- Assessment results and moderation reports
- Regulatory or industry changes
- Identification of areas for enhancement
Findings and recommendations must be documented, endorsed by and approved by the Academic & Exams Board
7. Continuous Improvement
Curriculum updates regardless of minor or major must be approved by AEB. After
AEB Approval these changes should be submitted online to GoBusiness and can be
taught only after SSG approval have been obtained through the course application
amendment submitted on GoBusiness. All changes should aim to enhance teaching
effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
8. Documentation and Version Control
All curriculum documents—including programme structures, module outlines,
assessment plans, and review reports—must be maintained with clear version
control and approved change records.
